Review: Michael Myers returns, in total slasher glory! Halloween 4 contains the largest on-screen body count of the series (Halloween 5 has an equal number of deaths, but not all of them are actually shown). It also introduces us to a new protagonist--Jamie, Laurie Strode's niece. It turns out that Laurie was killed in a car crash not long after the events of Halloween II. Michael returns to Haddonfield in search of Jamie, hoping to wipe out his entire family bloodline once and for all. Dr. Loomis once again chases him down to do battle.
Once again, not nearly as good as the previous films, but definitely one of the top-notch slasher movies of its time.
Trivia: Danielle Harris became a huge star among slasher movie fans thanks to her roles in Halloween 4 and 5. She went on to star on the TV show Roseanne and returned to the slasher genre in 1998 for the film Urban Legend.
