Child's Play 3

Director: Jack Bender

Writer: Don Mancini

Starring: Brad Dourif

Body Count: 7

Review: Child's Play 3 is a good idea, set in a military academy (a very plausible place for orphaned Andy to end up by this point) when Andy from the previous films is 16-years-old. Unfortunately, not all ideas work, and this is a classic example. The film isn't all that exciting until the end, which is only so-so (mainly because we're supposed to believe that Chucky switches thousands of rounds of blank ammunition for LIVE ammo within a matter of minutes!).
The climax of the movie is pretty cool, set in a carnival spook-house that just about any horror fan would love to take a ride through. Chucky gets sliced and diced once again, and this time there's no real hint of a sequel--and no one thought to make another one for quite some time (but I, for one, am glad they finally did).
