  I cant do it!

You watched him pace back and forth across the ugly hotel carpeting and it broke yourheart to watch him cry.

But its my dream Jace, I have this chance of a lifetime and I
gotta take it. Baby, try to understand.

He shook his head and stopped in front of you. The tears shone in his blue eyes and you wondered if anything youd see in the future months could compare to the beauty that he held. Looking at him almost made you want to stay but that little kid inside you stepped up and you remembered that this was your ultimate dream and you just couldnt give that up.

I know its your dream. Just like making music is mine which is why you have to go and I wont hold you back but I cant promise you that Ill still be here waiting for you when you get back. I just cant Lance. If you have to go then you have to go completely. No binds, no ties, no strings attached. You cant expect me to
just sit around and wait for you like some housewife. I have alife that has to keep turning even if youre not here to help it.

You knew he was right but it still hurt to admit it. You stood up and pulled him into a tight embrace. He sobbed into your shoulder. You could feel the tears soaking through your t-shirt and you felt like you were drowning in them.
This is over, he whispered, Its all over. *NSYNC, stardom, the next big thing, you and me, its all over. You nodded as he pulled away. He gave you a quick kiss and as you pulled apart you watched a tear slide out of his eye and follow the wet trail down his cheek. He turned away and walked out closing the door quietly behind him.
Before you left to Russia you tried to say goodbye to him but you just couldnt track him down so you left a message on his machine. You knew he probably wouldnt hear it for months but somehow that didnt really matter to you. You just needed to let him know that you loved him. It was the first time youd said it and you knew you meant it. When the plane took off you wondered if accomplishing your childhood dream was worth leaving him behind. And you cried.
