| This was the bands first album under Geffen records. The cover that you see above was not the original design. Axl originally suggested a painting by Robert Williams. This was of a girl being abused by a robot and another machine jumping over a fence. This was taken away, but can be found on the centre pages of the sleeve. The second suggestion was a clown with a railroad going into it's mouth, but this was also taken out. What you see above is the final design. Each skull was meant to represent a member of the band. Slash was at the bottom, Izzy Stradlin , the top, Axl was the centre, Duff was left and Steven Adler was right. This album reached number one when MTV fell in love with "Sweet Child o' Mine." | ||||||||
