December 2001 - WWF has a four man tournament to crown the 1st ever WWF Undisputed Champion. Rock, Stone Cold, Kurt Angle and Chris Jericho all compete. Jericho is crowned Champion. He now has the WWF World Title and WCW World Title.

April 1, 2002 - WWF starts brand extension. Raw and Smackdown have their own separate rosters now. Ric Flair is the Raw Owner and Vince McMahon is the Smackdown Owner. HHH, the Undisputed Champion is given a new World Title to replace the other two.

May 6, 2002 - WWF loses court case to the World Wild Life Fund and renames itself to WWE.

June 10, 2002 - Stone Cold walks out on WWE.

July 15, 2002 - WWE hires former WCW president Eric Bischoff as the Raw GM. Stephanie McMahon is the Smackdown GM.

July 19, 2002 - WWE drops HWA from its developmental territories.

September 2, 2002 - Raw has no World Champion, so Raw GM, Eric Bischoff crowns HHH the new Raw World Champion. Lesnar had left to be Champion of Smackdown.

October 2002 - WWE Titles are all different. This month the Raw World Title and Intercontinental Title are unified at the No Mercy PPV. Also at the PPV, new Smackdown Tag Team Champions will be crowned. After this each brand will have their own three titles. Raw will have the Raw World Title, Raw Tag Champs, and the Women's Title. Smackdown will have the Smackdown World Title, Smackdown Tag Champs, and the Cruiserweight Title. In the past year WWF has eliminated many titles. In November of 2001, the WCW US Title, WCW Tag Titles, and the WWF Lightweight Title were all vacated. In April 2002, the WWF and WCW Titles were made into one belt, The Undisputed Championship. In recent months the WWF Hardcore Title, WWF European Title, and the WWE Intercontinental Title have all been vacated.

January 21, 2003 - Hulk Hogan returns to the WWE on SmackDown after a long layoff due to a dispute between Vince McMahon and Hulk Hogan. He later leaves in July 2003 during his Mr. America gimmick.

July 2003 - To update the brand extension and the titles, here is the news. Steve Austin has now returned and is Co-Raw GM with Eric Bischoff. Sable has returned and is the assistant to Smackdown GM Stephanie McMahon. The title picture has changed yet again. Both the Intercontinental and United States Titles are back now. The Raw brand has the Heavyweight Championship, Intercontinental Championship, World Tag Team Championships, and the Womens Championship. The Smackdown brand has the WWE Championship, United States Championship, WWE Tag Team Championship, and the Cruiserweight Championship. On a side note Vince know owns WCW and ECW as well.

March 10, 2004 - Brock Lesnar announced that he will be leaving the WWE for a tryout in the NFL after his match against Bill Goldberg at WrestleMania 20. Goldberg's contract runs out after this match as well.

April 16, 2004 - Steve Austin and the WWE parted ways due to a contract dispute over who owns the copyrights of his likeness and could not come to terms to a new contract.

July 2004 - Another update. No title changes to update. WWE has experience a new generation of talent over the last year or so. The main eventers has changed greatly. Raw is led by Chris Benoit, HHH, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, Edge, Ric Flair, Chris Jericho, and Kane. Top performers on Smackdown are Eddie Guerrero, Kurt Angle, Undertaker, Bradshaw, The Dudleys, RVD, Booker T, Chavo Guerrero, and John Cena. WWE has also changed their PPV lineup. There will be 14 PPV's in the fiscal year of 2005. The four "big" PPV's will remain joint productions of Raw and Smackdown. In June 2004 both Raw and Smackdown had their own solo PPV. It will now create a shakeup in the PPV lineup as in July there was a Raw PPV. August is Summerslam, which is joint. September is Unforgiven, which is being promoted as a Raw PPV. That means Smackdown will go from June to October without a solo PPV. Also in October is the 2nd "extra" PPV. Early in October Smackdown will have it own PPV, No Mercy. A few weeks later Raw will have a PPV on a Tuesday night, the day after Raw.

October 2004 - WWE holds its first fan interactive PPV called Taboo Tuesday. This was a RAW PPV.

April 2005 - WWE will be leaving Spike TV in October and will head back to USA network. Smackdown will be in UPN through September 2006 but will move to Fridays this fall. Raw will return to the USA Network on October 3rd, and Smackdown will have their first Friday night episode on UPN on September 9th.

July 2005 - Matt Hardy re-emerges on WWE TV. He had been let go for the Edge-Lita-Hardy situation. He is back under a worked-shoot type storyline.

July 2005 - Muhammad Hassan, an Arab-American wrestling "character" is ban from UPN programming. This made WWE change around their main event plans for the summer. He was defeated by the Undertaker at the Great American Bash.

October 3, 2005 - WWE RAW returns to the USA Network.

November 13, 2005 - Eddie Guerrero passes away at age 38.

January 8, 2006 - Edge cashes in his Money in the Bank title shot at New Years Revolution PPV. He defeats Cena for the WWE Heavyweight Title.
