March 15, 2004 – RAW: Vince McMahon announces a lottery re-draft of the brand rosters.

March 22, 2004 – RAW: Paul Heyman quits after being selected in the lottery re-draft by Eric Bischoff. Smackdown now has no GM.

March 23, 2004: Chuck Palumbo and A-Train are traded to RAW for Rico and Jackie.

March 25, 2004: Kurt Angle is named SmackDown General Manager to fill the vacancy created by Paul Heyman’s resignation. He trades HHH to Raw for Booker T and the Dudley Boys.

July 22, 2004 – SmackDown: Vince McMahon fires Kurt Angle as General Manager of SmackDown.

July 29, 2004 – SmackDown: Vince McMahon names Theodore R. Long the new GM of SmackDown.

August 26, 2004 – SmackDown: Former RAW talent John Heidenreich debuts with Paul Heyman as his manager.

November 1, 2004 – RAW: SmackDown's Viscera serves as Christian’s “Problem Solver” for one evening, he later stays with RAW.
