| Five Minutes Alone - 1) A kick ass song by the band Pantera. 2) The amount of time it takes a parapolegic to unzip his pants. 3) A challenging way for me to entertain the masses with improvinated rants that are unscripted, unthought of, and unintelligent. ENJOY!!! |

| 3..2..1 GO. O.K. A lot has been pissing me off lately. Mainly radio. I tune in to tune out, and unfortunately, I'm bombarded by horrible sounds and uneducated peons who don't even deserve to be behind a mic. What the fuck. We live in a dowgraded society, full of hate, economic turmoil, dissatifaction, and misguided trust. A world full of ugliness both on the inside and outside. With little to appease us, we need outlets to make us look forward to what lies ahead. Something to drift our minds away from the normalcies of the world. We yearn to be entertained. We pay for it by the bag full. Yet somehow, the corporate legions of suits and ties that are supposed to be providing us with this can't seem to do their fucking jobs right. You want to earn our money? Give us something worth it. Stop pilfering through our wallets with trends and false promises that only lead to the next big thing. Give us something less stagnant. Something that'll stick around for more than a month. I woke up today and realized that all the bands on the radio I don't even know. Not their names, not their song titles. Funny though, I'm not upset by that. As a man who takes pride in the music I listen to, nothing raiding the airwaves these days is worth educating myself over. I don't know a damn thing about the Vines except they're the biggest rip off of Nirvana since Kurt was breathing. As are ALL the bands of the genre nowadays. Ironicaly, back when grunge first broke, my idol was saying the same thing. Everyone sounds the same. History has a nagging way of always repeating it's self. Little do most of the people know, it doesn't have to be like this. With a little effort and some invested time, fresh concepts that would last more than an hour could transpire. And another point that's yet to be spoken. The downloading and piracy of music via online servers such as the illfated Napster and the current one's being Morpheus and Kazaa. The industry bitches that bands are being ripped off due to these sources. My take on it. They deserve to be denied the excess money they could be making if these things were non-existant. Back before these were available to everyone, musicians and bands strived to put out a record people would spin over and over again. They took pride in their work and appreciated the fans who bought what they were putting out. Fast forward to the present. Countless bands with countless albums filled with mediocre crap plague our stores looking to be picked up and taken home. Simplisticly pieced together discs of worthless plastic with no meaning. No feeling. And nothing original to call it's own. Same lines about the same old thing only spruced up to come off as new. All this with a fifteen dollar or more cover charge. Cry all ya want, but until you change your ways, I see no problem with these sorry bastards making less and less day in and day out. Meanwhile it's people like me who sit at home practicing our asses off, scribbling on napkins, printer paper, and anything else we can get our hands on to etch our thoughts and feelings on. Never being heard because some prick behind a boardroom filled with money hungry peasants doesn't find us marketable. They'll never know because we don't get the shot to prove'em wrong. Give me two days in a studio and I'll give you my heart, my soul, and my all to present the world with something worth buying. Something they can relate to. That's why this new subculture of "rockers" don't profit. They all sound the same and their lines are either fake, repetitive, or ungeniuine. That's not what people WANT to hear. They want truth, they want reality, and they want something that doesn't come off as "here ya go, now like it!" Once you start seeing people as people and not numbers you'll see an incline in your productivity. Until then, there is no hope. Keep tryin though, I appreciate a good laugh at a floppin fish out of water. If money is air, I'll choose to suffocate...because dollars don't equal sense! ::You have reached the end of your alotted time:: Till later...I AM SlaM, and you ONLY...wish you WERE!!! |
