The reunion at the assembly was wonderful.  We were addressed by Clayton Endicott, (area presbyter for Europe and the Middle East), Tim Harper (Pastor from Michigan), and Ken Baker (State Overseer of South Carolina).  These men have a vision and passion to see the college reopened and they are committed to doing their part to see that we have a college again.  We were also addressed by our new General Overseer, Fred Fisher.  Brother Fisher also has a passion to see the college open again.  We were all encouraged by what we heard there.
I have been overwhelmed with responsibility since returning from the assembly and have just now taken the time to devote my attention again toward the college.  We agreed there to organize a taskforce of men and women from around the world to assess the needs of the church that can best be met by the college.  From that list of needs we will be better able to fashion a design for a formal proposal to the general church.
I am not sure of my role from here on.  What I initially set out to do has been done.  I have spoken with Larry Duncan about the college.  He is probably the most knowledgeable and the most qualified man in position to do something.  He is also the head of CBL as of this assembly.  He has an enormous list of responsibilities and is, therefore, limited as to how much time he can invest in the project.  I understand that he and Brother Fisher have talked about the school's reopening, however.  I gave to Brother Fisher a copy of every E-mail I received in response to my letter, so he knows the feelings of those who have written to me.
It is possible that Brother Fisher will, in the near future, make a general request of worldwide church membership on the subject of reopening the college in order to get a general idea of just how much desire there is out there for reopening the school.  Meanwhile I plan to continue to put together the taskforce I mentioned above.
Everyone at the reunion gave me their address and Emails.  When time permits I will work on adding these to the other E-mails addresses that I have.  A volunteer is needed in the Cleveland area who will go to headquarters and compile an address list from TC transcripts.  (If you are interested please let me know.)  When that is finished I will send a mailing to that list.  The alumni can be a great source of support for getting the school reopened so an up to date database of alumni is very important to our efforts.  At the reunion we collected $399.14 to help with mailing expenses.  As of today none of that has been spent.
If you wish to respond to this posting, or to commit funds to the project feel free to contact me via E-mail and I will include your response with all the others.   There were several who spoke with me at the assembly who have committed funds to the reopening of the school.  The enthusiasm continues to build.  Keep this project in your prayers.
I will make another update on this page when any significant progress is made, so keep checking in.  Feel free to contact me via E-mail, phone or mail.  My address, E-mail and phone number are on this website.
I want to recognize Phil and Betty Barker for all their work and encouragement.  They were more than helpful in making the reunion a success.  Their passion for the school is contagious.  So "Thank You" Bro. and Sis. Barker, and thank you for checking in...Stan

MAY 20, 2000

Nieta and I were in Atlanta this week for an Intimate Life Ministries Galatians 6:6 Retreat. I was privileged to speak with some overseers and other headquarters officials there who had received the letter. I was encouraged by their kind words of support. Yesterday I had Bubba Cardin send the letter to his E-mail list.  My list was incomplete. Some of you may receive this twice because of that problem and I am sorry for the inconvenience.
I have received responses from five state overseers and all of them have communicated to me their enthusiastic support. They include Bro. Wane Hall of Tennessee, Bro. Joe Parker of Ohio and West Virginia, Bro. Ray Payne of South Carolina, Bro. Wayne Pence of California, and Bro. Steven McDonald of Idaho, Oregon and Utah. All of these men told me they are sending the letter to each pastor in their respective states / regions requesting they give consideration to supporting reopening the college. I also received a response from Bro. J. E. Brisson from Virginia who related that the Virginia folks would do their part in supporting the school. The wonderful people of Virginia have been very supportive of the school over the years. Let me ask that you to encourage your overseer to read the letter and respond to me as soon as possible. I would like to be able to report a large number of positive responses to Brother Fisher at the TC / Lee Reunion during the Assembly.
I spoke this week with the International Director of Youth Ministries, Sister Palma Hutchinson, about sending a questionnaire to each Senior Camp director. She enthusiastically agreed to do that for me. I will get that together and sent to her ASAP. Each Senior camper will be asked their intentions with regard to post secondary education, and if they would consider attending our church college if it were in existence. The information from this questionnaire will be invaluable. If you are in contact with Sister Palma please extend to her your appreciation for her cooperation. She has the welfare of our youth deeply planted in her heart.
Below I have included an exert from one of the touching E-mails that I have  received from young college age people.  This one is from a young man from South Carolina.

Dear Brother Lambert,

I am a young minister who is currently going to Lee University.  I am a member in SC at the Pelham Church of God of Prophecy.  When I was a child all I heard about was TC.  When they closed it I was devastated. I wanted to always go to TC and that is why I think that TC should be reopened.  I would do all I could to help you in every way that I could. I pray that God will help and bless these efforts.

In Christ,
Chad A. Smith, a 20 yr. old evangelist

I will post another update here soon. If you have not responded to me yet, please do so as soon as possible. Every E-mail is important. This is one time that numbers are significant. Please talk with your pastor about the CD plan and have him communicate his feelings to me as soon as possible.  I am making regular updates to Brother Fisher.
Send and E-mail to me at Stan Lambert and tell me briefly what your feelings are relative to reopening the school.  Your thoughts on the subject are very important.  We need to hear from you...Stan
