VIRGINIA VIPERS

Coach William Blandford

Bio:

My name is William Blandford and I live in the great state of Virginia. I was born and raised in Virginia. I joined this league in part because of Jeff Spencer; I am in the Indiana Baseball League, which he also founded. Football is my favorite sport.

I am 33 years old, single and I work for the federal government. I am not one of the 'Men In Black', though even if I was ... I couldn't tell you. Before working for the government, I was an elementary school teacher.

I enjoy movies, music, reading (not as much as I'd like to) and I'm really into sports, which makes sense that I'm in baseball and football leagues. I like most sports, however my favorites would be football, baseball and hockey.

My Action PC knowledge is moderate at best. I was in the USIFL for a season, but left for various reasons. I joined another Action PC League (ISFL), and I just finished my first season as an expansion team (Houston Texans), going 1-15. I'm still learning the art of play-calling and finding the right scheme to fit your team.

The toughest thing about this league so far has been coming up with a team name. It took me weeks to finally decide on one. Initially, I was going to call my team the Norfolk Knights, but when I saw Denver was the "Dark Knights", I decided against it. Virginia Vipers sounded both cool and intimidating. It was the most popular choice of the names I came up with. There was a close 'second' choice, and I'm keeping that one ... just in case.
