COMMISSIONER'S CORNER
18 July 06
11 June 06
Guys, I'm back from vacation. Thanks to all who wished a good time, it was a lot of fun. I have what might come as surprising news to some but I don't think it will be a major impact on the league. Effective immediately, I am resigning as IFL commisssioner. I will stay on as a coach/owner in the league but Bill Dearing, defending Super Bowel champ and good friend, will take my commissioner spot. I love coaching the games and being a part of the league but the demands of my baseball leagues didn't allow me to do this job as well as I wanted. Bill has been a commissioner in the past and will be a great leader for the league. I'll allow Bill to take the spotlight at this point and run with it. I'll also let him let you know about the draft. Thanks, Jeff

Guys,
The IFL draft has begun. I'm glad it's finally here after more delays
than I expected or hoped. Thanks for your patience. Please read this
carefully and respond to a couple of things.
1. This will be an email draft. You must hit replay all and send
your email to everyone. I've attached a directory so you can be sure
to be current. I think Scott will be adding things to the website but
email will be our primary means.
2. Your email subject should "your team selects, XXX is up, XXX and
XXX to follow"
3. In the body, make your pick and update the round sheet to reflect
your pick.
4. If you can't make a pick, send someone a list. Bill
Dearing([email protected])
will be the primary draft helper. My
school address is
[email protected] but only email if it
is very important. This is my last week of school.
5. I'll email a schedule out each night with 12 scheduled picks. You
get 1 hour to make your choice. You can look at the schedule and
guess about where you will be picking. Also, we go pick when ready
after the 12 picks each day.
6. I'll attach the Running Salary Total spreadsheet each night or
every other night. You cannot fall below 255K on the Salary/Picks.
There is currently a question about South Mountain, when I hear from
David, I'll fix his roster but he's well undercap so it doesn't really
matter.
7. I hope to have new files out every night or every other night.
8. I need someone to be fill in commish this Friday through Sunday.
My sister is getting married and I will be out of town. I send list
for my picks but I need someone to handle the files.
9. I leave for vacation June 3rd and return June 11th. We will not
draft during that time frame.
10. Check the draft grid. I'll double check too but I think I got
all
trades.

Guys, Draft starts one week from tomorrow. I'll have files out tomorrow. I think AOL guys will get my emails again. I'm off tomorrow from work. 1. What do you need from me other than new files? 2. The draft will be 12 one hour slots a day. So, we'll get in one round every other day. I need to know who can handle list and be a draft helper. 3. I have no gmail at work. I'll give everyone my work email but I don't want every pick sent there. Again, I need a volunteer or two to hold down the fort while I'm away from home. 4. Cuts are due Wednesday. You must be far enough under the cap to sign all of your picks. I sent the cap numbers last week, let me know if you need them again. Thanks, Jeff

Guys,
Happy Easter, this will be quick and you may not hear from me again
until Wednesday.
1. I'll have files out Wednesday. We're leaving in an hour and I
have a track meet Monday and Cub scouts on Tuesday. I have a bunch of
trades, some corrections to make, and some uncarded players to add.
Email me anything if you want it out on Wednesday.
2. Trading- I have two things here:
a. Please email me trades. I need both owners to confirm.
Also, CC: the owner you traded with when you email me. This will make
sure no errors occur. Use position of players and first and last name
to make it easier on me.
b. If you are emailed an offer, you should reply in some form,
even "no thanks" within a day or two max. It is unacceptable to not
reply to a trade offer.
3. Draft Date- I should have been more clear. I did not intend that
we would start the rookie draft in a day or two. Personally, I think
we should have 10-14 days notice at minimum before the cut down date.
That gives everyone a chance to finish wheeling and dealing. I'm on
vacation from June 4 to June 11. Since I have to do all the files, we
need to avoid those dates.
Thanks,
Jeff
