| 1. Title of Lesson: Write a title to describe the context of the day's lesson. | |||||||||||||||
| 2. Source: Write where you've gotten the information, ideas, texts, and activities that you've used in creating your plan. | |||||||||||||||
| 3. Student Profile: List the charactertistics of the students your propose to teach | |||||||||||||||
| 4. Content: List the new language that you're teaching. Please be specific. Organize into categories as appropriate (e.g., grammar, vocabulary, tasks & functions) | |||||||||||||||
| 5. Objectives: Write the goals to be accomplished by students by the end of the day's lesson. Each objective should be specific, concrete, and provable. You must include enabling objectives and at least one terminal objective. | |||||||||||||||
| 6. Materials: List the specific materials you'll use to accomplish the lesson. | |||||||||||||||
| 7. Warm-Up: Prepare students for the context and topic being presented in the lesson. | |||||||||||||||
| 8. Presentation: Present the new language in context. Make input comprehensible by using various techniques and check comprehension frequently. Students should be actively involved in the lesson through classroom interactions and listening/reading tasks. | |||||||||||||||
| 9. Guided Practice: Provide a controlled setting in which students practice the new language content. | |||||||||||||||
| 10. Independent Activity: Provide a realistic context in which students can use the new language with minimal assistance from the teacher. This should match the terminal objective. | |||||||||||||||
| 11. Feedback: Evaluate how successful students were in attaining the terminal objective. Provide some kind of feedback on students' performance and elicit feedback from students. | |||||||||||||||
| 12. Closure: Explain how you will provide students with further opportunities to use the day's target language content. You can do this by giving homework assignments and/or explaining how students will practice the new language in the next class. | |||||||||||||||
