From the prompt: "Don't stop believing..."

Office Tasks

"I swear she's on some trip for office domination," Tyler Shane muttered under his breath. His fingers fairly flew over the keyboard, and he was just getting into the rhythm of it all when -
"Oh, Tyler sweetie, can you draft a letter for me?" Lisa sashayed into the room. If she took strides an inch longer, that flimsy rag called a skirt would definitely split. She perched on the corner of his desk, and he blushed furiously at her bold show of skin, turning away.
He gestured vaguely towards his computer screen, avoiding the sight of her nearly-naked leg. "I have to finish this contract for Mr. Collins..."
"Oh, here, let me write it down, then." Lisa leaned across him, and her wraparound blouse puckered open to reveal white lace as she reached for a pen. Tyler shrank back, undoubtedly a vivid shade of red by now.
"Um...I have to type?" he offered weakly.
"Just a sec," she murmured. Then she straightened up and handed him the notepad. She leaned over his shoulder, pointing out how she wanted it to sound. Tyler was paralyzed. She was so close, her perfume so cloying...
"Hey Ty, I need you to help me with my computer, I can't..." JoLynn strode into the receptionist area, high-heels clacking even on the carpeted floor. She paused in her tracks and glared at Lisa, and when she started walking again there was an extra sway in her hips. Tyler shrank back further in his seat. The tension in the room skyrocketed.
JoLynn strode towards his desk, anger in her eyes. Then she leaned over and flashed an innocently sweet smile.
"Ty, there's something wrong with my computer, I can't log onto the network." She pouted.
(She probably disable the javascript again,) he thought to himself.
(Ah, DJ, and you say I'm insane?) Tobias teased.
(I don't wander around Central talking to myself,) Tyler retorted tightly.
"Did you say something?" Lisa asked, eyeing him curiously.
Tyler shook his head, mortified. Had he sub-vocalized? In his mind, Tobias was snickering. Maybe he had...
(Come on, DJ, Dragon, you're a top fighter, an assassin, and the little helpless office girls scare you?)
Anger sparked. Tyler cleared his throat. "All right, I'll type up this letter for you, since you asked first. Then, JoLynn, I'll come fix your computer. Okay?"
He took the tablet of paper from Lisa and opened a new window in WordPerfect and began to type rapidly, studiously ignoring the two women hovering at his desk, glaring at each other.
Once the letter was printed, he handed it to Lisa and stood up, nodding to JoLynn.
In her office, he sat at her desk and began navigating the Internet Options. He frowned. The Javascript was still actively enabled, but the company site wasn't working. Ah. He rolled his eyes. The kick-the-chord trick. Suppressing a groan of annoyance, he slid out of the seat and crawled under the desk. Yup. She'd kicked her wire loose. Maneuvering his long frame in the small space, he fumbled to shove the connection back into the wall in the dim light.
"What are you doing under there?" JoLynn asked teasingly.
Tyler was shocked, body jerking in reaction when he felt a slap on his butt. He winced from hitting his head, and scrambled out from under the desk, backing towards the door.
"Well, you should be able to log on now, so yeah. Bye."
He fled back to his desk, and began typing up Mr. Collins contract at a desperate speed. Someone in Sector Three totally had it out for him, giving him jobs in offices with flirty girls.
(One day I'll get out of this,) Tyler told himself, clacking away at the keyboard determinedly.
(Nope. There's a chick in Sector Three who has this mad crush on you, but you danced with every girl but her at the office party three months ago,) Tobias informed him cheerfully.
(I'll get a fun RW job one day,) Tyler answered.
(You keep on believing that,) Tobias replied.
Tyler groaned when Lisa, JoLynn and Marilee descended on him all at once.
(Don't stop believing that,) Tobias repeated, and snickered.
Tyler gritted his teeth. (I won't.)
