The Syzygy Zone's Slash Archieve was started way back when i was a sweet, innocent freshman, and was the "I'm Not Reading Slash" page. Spawned from the idealized romantic linkings of Mulder and Krycheck, my interest in Slash has always been sweet and innocent. Dispite upon watching the x-files and commenting "oh those boys SO belong together" a sort of innocent mentality about what EXACTLY that intailed prevailed. i was curious and searched the net, and soon everytime i was on a computer a syzygy girl would say "are you looking at slash AGAIN?" and i'd quickly say "i'mnotreadingslash" and really, i wasn't. i kept getting flustered, sweet and pure as i am. But what can i say, i was intrigued, and i persisted despite initial discomfort.
Somehow i got over my inhabitions, and i really don't remember when, but i delved into the world of fanfics and slash. It was then that i realized DAMN, the internet has QUITE a lot of slash on it. What with being a world-wide pornography ring and all. Some slash is really well written, some of it's not. Some of it is fluffy angsty crap, other is pure cottaging rutting smutt. Some is scary and i won't read, some of it's in the middle. Most appears to be written by girls, often my age or younger, which gives me the biggest kick. i don't read it all. i don't like it all. there is some that i don't want to read, the violence makes me ill. But most of it's not that, and hey, isn't it one of the things that the whole blue ribbon campaign is designed to protect? free speech, whether you agree or not.
Velvet Goldmine and Buffy stuff tend to be the best fandoms, for fps *I* think. Savage Garden is the best real person slash, and what really changed my life. Those are the fandoms that i read. i really only like good stuff; good for me means IF you use pre-establed characters and write in a way that makes me BELIEVE what you have them do. Dialauge is really important, especially with Buffy and VG fics. i don't like violence. i will not stand for unwanted/forced/rape slash or fic. That is very wrong and hon, something's twisted if you write it. Not to judge, but tis true. i know my loveline shit. Whining monologues bore me. Quality of writting matters. i don't care if you're writting pron, it's still writing and should be held to some standard of quality. So i go for action, happy creativity, and basic good writing skills. That's what i like in my slash.
i intend this page archieve particularly well written slash stories i love, and provide links to good slash sites i find.
This page is devoted to archiving slash fiction of high quality. For those of you who didn't catch on, Slash is the term given to fictional writing that contains m/m sexual situations. No harm is intended by any of the writers for any of their writings. No money is being made. Read at your own risk. If it isn't your cup of tea, go back to the main page otherwise, proceed.
