About this site

My intent in starting this site in 2000 was to share knowledge and generate enthusiasm about a new bike by a relatively unknown company. At the time, there was no service manual available, few dealers, and many skeptics. I think time has shown that Aprilia is a great company making great products, and my enthusiasm about them is as great as ever.

As I update this, this site is now going on it's ninth year. The Aprilia Falco has not been made for quite a while. I've noticed a transistion in the email I receive, from those with new bikes and modification questions, to those who are buying used machines which may not have received the best care. But there is a still a universal excitement in people who are buying this machine, and I enjoy hearing from you. Please be warned, though, that I do read all the mail as it comes in, but often I don't get around to replying right away. This is especially true if you're asking a complicated question. My apologies in advance for any delay.

I've always strived to keep this site's priority on content and navigation and spare the wasted bandwidth on fancy formatting. But if you see anything broken, please email me and I'll try to fix it. I run a link-checker, if lucky, once a year to fix the broken links, most likely to be found in the links and articles page, but feel free to report anything. I want this site to be accurate in content, and readable on every type of browser.

This is a reference site. I've allowed it to be translated and copied. For those of you who want to print out a how-to for the garage, there is an alternative style sheet that converts the site to straight-up black on white. Mozilla Firefox, Seamonkey, and Opera users will find some sort of quick page style selector or view menu to use this feature. Internet Explorer 6 doesn't support alternative style sheets or "user mode". I am not sure about later versions of IE. But you can go to Internet Options under Accessibility and disable site colors, or use an alternative style sheet downloaded onto your machine.

Thanks for reading, and happy motoring.
