Singaporeans who are still hoping for Singapore to return to the M-league & Malaysia Cup can banish the idea according to Professor Ho Peng Kee, Senior Minister of State (Law and Home Affairs) and deputy president of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS)

Professor Ho was at the official launch ceremony for the NTUC Income - Yeo's joint sponsorship of the S-league when he finally decided to end the rumors that FAS was sending a team to FAM to talk about rejoining the M-league.

Prof Ho stated the idea of Singapore returning to the Malaysia Cup has never entered the mind of FAS.

What FAS is looking for is the possibility of having the top clubs from Singapore and Malaysia playing in a new mini-tournament which may also includes Thai and Vietnamese leagues in future.

Such regional competition will provide added flavour and elevate the appeal of the S-League among local football fans.

Professor Ho also agreed the S-league may not be a great league but it has make progress over the years & the league committee will continue to remake the league the best in the region.

Professor Ho then asked the die-hard S-league fans not to lose their enthusiasm for the league but also involved their family members & friends as well.
