India & Japan are joint-top of Group 3 with 3 points after both won their opening home matches.

A penalty goal decided the fate of the opening match between India vs Singapore in the World Cup qualifying Group 3. India had won 1-0 through a Renedy Singh penalty goal scored 4 minutes into the second half.

In the other match in World Cup qualifying Group 3, Japan was fortunate as they missed a penalty & nearly saw the match end goalless but a late winner by Tatsuhiko Kubo in the 92 minutes of the match was enough to give them a 1-0 victory over Oman.
