The Eagles are set to showcase their new signings of midfielder John Wilkinson (Woodlands Wellington), defender Fathi Yunos (Woodlands Wellington) & striker Haris Sumri (Tanjong Pagar United) when the Eagles embarked on a 10-day training tour of Malaysia starting on January 19, 2005

Since the end of the 2004 S-league season the Eagles had been looking to rebuild as they suffered their worst form in the domestic league where they finished in seventh position, but did superbly in the AFC Cup where they reached the semi-final. The Bedok-based club had hoped to finish among the top 3 for 2004 as they along with SAFFC & Home United have kept a stranglehold on the top 3 since 2001 & the Eagles also reached 2 Singapore Cup Final in that time as well.

Therefore the first 3 signings with more to come are the first step in what coach Scott O’Donell believed will be the revival of the Bedok-based into a force in the S-league again

The Eagles will play Johor FA, Malaysian Police, Public Bank, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor MPPJ & Telekom Malacca during the tour.
