Former S-league bad boy, Nicodeme Boucher will be making a return to the S-league after 2 1/2 years.
He had left the S-league in 2000 after he was banned for 1 year for punching ex-SAFFC player Tan Kim Leng in the dressing room after a match. During the match, he had a disagreement with Tan Kim Leng & its spill over after the match leading to Nicodeme Boucher charging into the SAFFC dressing room to attack Tan Kim Leng.
It became a police case as a police report was made but an out-of court settlement was reached. Still he could not escape the league punishment though as he was banned.
The 37-old-Senegalese is now returning to his former club Tanjong Pagar United to revive its fortunes.
Tanjong Pagar United was a force in the S-league but has recently fallen on hard time & last season had finished in 10th position out of 12 teams. The 1.97 metre tall striker, was a constant threat to other defenders back in 1998 & 2000 when he was at Tanjong Pagar United & he is hoping to do the same this time round.
He is looking to put that unfortunate incident behind him and start afresh in Singapore. He will also be bringing with him 3 other players from the team he has been playing with in Reunion Island.
This is something Jaguars coach Moey Yoke Ham welcomes as he seeks to rebuild the club with new players in the campaign. The club aims to finish 5th in the new 10-team S-league.
Nico and the other 3 new foreign players are due at the club next week to start training with the rest of the team
