Speak to any Vietnamese & you would know they have long given up any hopes their country would be in the semi-final of the Tiger Cup as they know Cambodia is incapable of stopping Singapore.

Already the fingers are pointing in all directions & all involved from the players, coach & VFF are not spared.

First the media is pointing the fingers at the VFF & the departed coach for the disaster Tiger Cup campaign as for the first time since the Tiger Cup begun in 1996 Vietnam have failed to reached the semi-final

To them it had long been on the books as VFF had long neglected long-term planning & was always looking for short-term results. That is why to them Le Huyng Duc, an old campaigner, is still not replaceable as there is no planning to replace him in the long run & now they are paying for it as the old-timer can no longer carry the team. There is just no continuity with the many changes in coaches as whenever a campaign end, the coach will depart & everything start all over again.

Also not helping in the eye of the media is the physical training by Tavares which was not accepted by the players & the trip to West China where the temperature was totally different from Vietnam.

Not helping at all is the moaning by players, they were kept apart from their families for too long a period as they had been in National training since July when the V-league ended.

For ex-Vietnam Brazilian coach Tavares he decry he never got the support he needed from the VFF & he had to depend on   Le Huyng Duc who owned a sport shop to help out with equipments.

In all a mess & not helping Vietnam as they looked to close up the Tiger Cup campaign.
