All eyes were on the television set in the hotel lobby as Singapore players gathered to watch the Vietnam-Indonesia match & waited anxiously to find out the result of the clash.

This match will no doubt decide Singapore fate as if Vietnam & Indonesia draw the Republic would have to go on a goal scoring spree in the ;last matches to catch up on both countries in the goals department

By half-time though, there were much cheers among the Singapore players as Indonesia raced to a 3-goal lead as Indonesian keeper Hendro Kartiko had a superb game making 3 world class saves that totally demolished the morale of the Vietnamese players in both half.

Certainly 1 player Goh Tat Chuan was grateful to Indonesian keeper Hendro Kartiko for the saves he make in the first & second half as if not the saves he had make the Vietnam could have staged a comeback with the home support behind them & then the game could have turned out differently & possibility turning out to be a draw.

However like all the other players he did not mind who won as long as there was a winner in the game & this was the mood in the Singapore camp as everybody celebrated the fact the Republic now have the fate of their destiny in their own hands.

However there were still cautions spoken out by senior players like captain Aide Iskandar who had seem Singapore collapsed before under pressure therefore feeling Singapore had to get results against Laos & Cambodia first before celebrating.

Goh Tat Chuan echoed that view saying he is ready to do battle.
