The Eagles are looking at ex-Rams English midfielder John Wilkinson as the first step to rebuild their squad for the 2005 season after the rather disappointing domestic season they had in 2004, but not forgetting at the same time they had a remarkable time in Asia in the AFC Cup where they reached the semi-final stage.

Despite the mixed fortune, the season had been considered a failure with the Eagles out of Asian competition next season. That is why John Wilkinson is considered important with him scoring a total of 26 S-league in his 3 year with the Rams which had great high & low.

He arrived in Singapore at the beginning of 2002 to play for the Rams but was soon on his way back to England as he had to return home during mid-season to take care of his mother who was sick. He only returned back in 2 months time but overall he did well for the Rams in his first season with 7 goals considering the things that happen.

For the next season in 2003 with his mind totally on his career with the club, he had a remarkable season as he scored 11 goals, of which 2, "Woodlands Wellington vs SAFFC" & "Woodlands Wellington vs Geylang United” were nominated for Tiger Beer Goal of the Year. At the Awards Night, his goal against SAFFC won him the award of Tiger Beer Goal of the Year.

This year though, he had an ordinary season with the Rams failing to keep their advantages they had build up in the first Round of the S-league. Nevertheless he still got 8 goals in 28 matches.
