With Singapore international & Home United striker Indra Sahdan
delaying his surgery on his troublesome ankle to play in the Tiger Cup, it is
widely expected he could well miss Home United opening campaign next season as
the Tiger Cup run up to January 2005 & the S-league season start from
February 2005.
Therefore it is no surprise the
Bishan-based club has taken steps to minimise the loss of 1 of their top scorer
as they approach ex-Young Lions striker Fadzuhasny Juraimi looking to sign him
on.
Fadzuhasny Juraimi was not retained by
the Cubs as from next season the new Cubs policy is to restrict the Cubs squad
to players under the age of 23 to prepare for the SEA Games 2005. Fadzuhasny
Juraimi is already 25 years old & is well over the limit.
However it is not known if the
out-of-favour Lions striker can truly replaced Indra Sahdan in the frontline as
he is widely regarded as a striker who need far too many chances to convert a
goal thus earning his the nickname of ‘Singapore Andy Cole’. It is not helped
by the fact he only hit 7 goals for the Young Lions in 2004 & suffered a
long goal drought at the start of the season before ending it against the
Warriors.
