Cameroon side Planet FC will not be participating in the S-league 2005 after failing to meet the league's entry requirements within the deadline imposed by the league.

The Cameroonians were bidding to become the league's newest member after the inclusion of new local side Paya Lebar Kovan but could not produce a cashier's order of $200,000, a banker's guarantee of $300,000 & a letter of authorisation from the Cameroon Football Association (FECAFOOT) in time.

S-league deputy CEO How Seen Yong said Planet were not able to meet our requirements & we have discontinued our evaluation of their application. The 2005 S-league will be contested by 10 teams. Paya Lebar Kovan will replace Tanjong Pagar in the league & apart from that there will be no more changes to the lineup.

Despite the disappointment, Planet FC honourary president Richard Ng hinted at a renewed bid to join the S-League next season.

Ng said he is not disappointed but rather he had been strengthened by the experience & will definitely try harder to apply for entry into the league in 2006. He have learnt a lot from this experience & will be better prepared next time around as he still believe in this team because we have a bunch of talented & sincere players & they want to show that Planet FC can go far.

Planet FC meanwhile have lined up invites to tournaments in the Maldives & Thailand. They are also planning to apply to participate in the 2005 Singapore Cup, which is likely to feature foreign teams outside of the S-league.
