Even if the Jaguars had stayed in the S-league for 2005, it would have been a miracle if they could have send out a half-decent squad. Already several players had opted for others clubs & more are linked with others.

Ex-Jaguars defender Jalil Arsat & midfielder Ishak Zainol had already signed for the ambitious Warriors who are aiming for the 2005 title. Taking into view the Warriors aim, it should be asked how they can improve the Warriors as they formed part of the ‘Wooden Spoon’ Jaguars but with a track record like Kim Poulsen, transforming Young Lions to title-challenger & winning ASEAN bronze with Singapore U18,  it would be hard to question his decisions.

At the time, Jaguars 2004 season top scorer Haris Sumri (8 goals) had opted for the Eagles. It is hard to image him anything other than a bench warmer at the Eagles for at best he is  decent striker but with the Eagles having Aleksander Duric (15 goals), Noor Ali (7 goals) & new found youngster Fazrul Nawaz (5 goals) to choose from, he would be at the backburner.

But one who would be very much first choice unlike the above 3 would be keeper Ridzuan Fatah Hassan. The keeper had been superb for the last 2 season jumping from third choice to first choice at Home United where he was serving his NS & this season when rejoining the Jaguars in June after completing his NS he had saved the team many times at the back. With such performances it is no wonder the Protectors had gone back looking for him now that the Jaguars are out of the S-league & he is reported interested in rejoining his former club.
