Eagles coach Scott O’Donell praised the efforts of his team especially Shahril Jantan who was Man-of-the- Match

The Australian said it was certainly a tough game. Al Wahda dominated the match & had us under a lot of pressure but our defence held firm & Shahril Jantan made a couple of great saves.

Indeed Shahril Jantan looked to have won the game for the Eagles single-handedly with superb saves throughout the match but was finally beaten when Mohammed Jaafar headed home a cross from fellow substitute Walid Al Sherif.

Still the Australian was delighted with the result even as he was disappointed with the late equalizer but he know the job is not done yet even as there is still the second leg.

He said they are happy with the away draw but losing the lead so late is certainly a disappointment. Still if you had given him a 1-1 draw before the match, he would have taken it. Of course they are under no illusions though that we have done the job. Al Wahda are a very tough, physical side & they will have to play well in Singapore next Tuesday if they hope to get through to the final.
