Despite misgivings about his side’s second half performance, Geylang coach Scott O’Donell was delighted by his team’s progress especially after a poor domestic season where the Eagles are going to finish in their worst ever League position of seventh position in the S-League.

The Australian said he is glad that they have got through to the AFC Cup semi-finals.

But he is not happy with the performance especially as they had a good first half but got sloppy in the second. He feels the team must learn from their mistakes from the game & maintain concentration in the future as this competitiont is important to them now.

The Eagles want to do well in the AFC Cup as they had been disappointing in the domestic league this year so this competition means everything to them right now.

It had been a great tournament for the Eagles & has given them great experience in playing football outside Singapore.

Geylang United now faced Syrian side Al Wahda in the semi-finals with the first leg in Damascus on October 19 & the second leg in Bedok on October 26.
