Oman & Japan both won their respective matches with Oman defeating Singapore 2-0 while Japan thrashing India 4-0 to ensure the next match when they clashed would be the decider for the outcome of whom go through to the second round of the Asian zone World Cup Qualifying.

Still it would be advantage to Japan as Oman would have to win against Japan but with home advantage one cannot discount the Omanis.
