In a boost to their Asian Football Confederation Cup campaign, Home United are expected to wrap up the signing of national goalkeeper Lionel Lewis

Lewis currently plays for the Young Lions, but will be deregistered today so he can be included in Home United AFC Cup squad, which must be finalised by tomorrow

His signing will provide Home coach Steve Darby with more options, since clubs are only allowed to field 3 foreign players in the AFC Cup.

The move was mooted during the S-League transfer window in June, but delayed after the 21-year-old's former club, Geylang United, claimed a transfer fee if he moved to the Protectors.

But the S-League Players Status Committee ruled last week that Lewis' contract with Geylang was rendered null & void when he signed for the Young Lions last year.

Thus Home United will not have to pay a transfer fee for the goalkeeper, although a development fee could be applicable under Fifa rules.

Also a clause was insert in the deal between Home United & Young Lions stipulates that Lionel will return to the Young Lions next season.
