Despite the facts that this website was set up with the main aim to promote Singapore football (or more precisely S-league), the website have not forgotten the big picture that Singapore cannot ignored the Asian football Arena.

Since the Asian Cup is Asia top regional competition for nations, this website have decided to include news on the Asian Cup.

However it is impossible for the website to send anybody to Beijing to gather the latest news on the Asian Cup so the website will feature the results of these important stages – 8 quarter-finals from the group stage, 4 semi-finalists, 2 finalists & the winner of the Asian Cup.

For your pleasure, here are some informations about the Asia Cup 2004.

  • The Asian Cup was started back in 1956 soon after AFC was formed in 1954
  • These is the first time 16 nations would participate in the Asian Cup as the last Asian Cup held in Lebanon was restricted to 12 nations
  • There are 6 winners for the 12 previous Asian Cup – South Korea, Israel, Iran, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia & Japan -  with Israel now no longer with AFC as they have joined UEFA
  • Iran & Saudi Arabia have jointly won the most Asian Cup with each winning 3 times
  • Japan is the current Asian Cup champion
