Singapore Sport Council (SSC) is set to take action against 2 S-league clubs for defaulting on their payments to repay their debts

The 2 clubs are Tanjong Pagar United & Woodlands Wellington & both are reported to owe the SSC over $130000.

SSC is seeking legal advices as they claimed the 2 clubs in questions have stopped making their payments back in March on the plan to restructure their debts.

Also SSC is threating to take back the lease of the stadium if the warnings are not enough for them to keep up with the repayments.

Jaguars chairman Matthew Kang admitted his club is having problems keeping up with the payments but felt SSC should give his new management some time to deal as they only took over in December last year.

He claimed the debts was build up from 1996, when the Jaguars was part of the original 8 teams to start the S-league, onwards & it is impossible for his management to deal with it in the few months he had been given.

Adding to that he is extremely unhappy the SSC would retort to threats such as taking back the lease of the stadium as it showed the insensitively of the SSC.

While at the Rams side, it was a completely shock as the Rams management thought they had repay all their debts back when they stopped the repayments.

They are looking into the matter & seeking talks with SSC to clear the air.
