Home United advanced to the semi-finals
of the Big Trumpet
The Double Champion showed why they
are still considered favourite by all as despite whatever the odds stacked
against it, the team would be able to overcome it & emerged victorious.
With a slender 1 goal advantage for
the Warriors to protect, it was expected to be a tough fight for the Double
Champion & conceding the first goal to the Warriors hardly make things any
better but by the end of the first half, the double Champion have turned the
table with them holding the slight advantage as a result of their 2 away goals.

The Eagles can hardly be considered an underdog under any circumstances
in Singapore but this can considered to be the case as the Eagles having 1 of
their worst season ever was laying in the lowly place of seventh position out
of 10 teams while their opponent the Rams are in second position.
Also the Rams have the added advantage
of 2 away goals despite losing the first leg 2-3 & a slender 1 goal victory
against the Eagles will ensure the Rams go through to the semi-final of the Big
Trumpet
It was never the case though for the
Rams as within the first half an hour the quarter-final match was over with the
Eagles scoring 2 goals.
With the 2 goals advantage finished the
rams had no choice but to go all out &they did pulled 1 goal back but it
was never enough & with them needing another 3 goals to go through, it was
a case of asking too much from them.
