Goalscoring has been a real problem for the Eagles this season with them the second-lowest scorers in the S-League with 19 goals from 13 games.
Therefore coach Scott O'Donell has decided to turn to new signing Stewart Petrie to boost his strike options.
The Australian feel Stewart is a hardworking & aggressive striker who holds the ball up well & that is something the Eagles have been lacking.
Petrie should make his debut against the Young Lions at Bedok Stadium barring any last minute hitches with his medical.
Scot Petrie joins Geylang United from Australian side Northern Spirit, where he scored 7 goals in 20 games in the National Soccer League last season.
The veteran striker was previously with Scottish Premier League side Dunfermline Athletic & Forfar Athletic, before moving to Australia. Petrie played over 300 games for Dunfermline over a 10-year period from 1993, scoring 57 goals for the Pars in the process.
He joins fellow new signings Mark Williams & Wayne O'Sullivan, both of whom made their debuts against Woodlands.
