Despite the Lions' 7-0 massacre in their World Cup qualifying clash against Oman, Football Association of Singapore (FAS) president Ho Peng Kee insisted Singapore football future is looking up.
On their latest setback, Assoc Prof Ho, the Senior Minister of State for Law and Home Affairs, told everybody that the Lions' had played under difficult conditions against a top team while disappointed with the result he wanted to remind fans that no campaign is without its disappointments.
Prof Ho felt it is better to know why we lost & how we lost than go blaming anybody.
He want to rest assured everybody that FAS are under no illusions that there remains much work to be done & hence they will press on.
However performances of the national teams, especially the Young Lions in a more competitive S-League, a strengthened football infrastructure & the revival of the Lion City Cup all point to a resurgence in confidence & interest in local football.
