The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) announced the launch of Care United — S-League For The Community programme with a fund-raising gala dinner at the Raffles City Convention Centre.

Graced by Guest of Honour Madam Ho Ching, executive director and CEO of Temasek Holdings, the gala dinner raised no less than $220,000 for charity.

The donations — including $10,000 donation from Sam Goi, executive chairman of Tee Yih Jia Food Manufacturing — will be used to fund 3 projects, namely the Children Financial Assistance Scheme, Transportation for Elderly Folks & Development of Women's Football Teams.

Madam Ho Ching felt it is a worthy cause & allowed different facets of the society to bond together making it a more healthy community in Singapore through football

According to FAS president Assoc Prof Ho Peng Kee, the aim of Care United is to enrich the lives of the less fortunate by enabling them to participate in football & community activities organised by the S-League.

He feel football can touched the lives of many Singaporeans & he knows Care United will further enrich & make a positive difference to the lives of the less fortunate in the society.
