Hassan may be a recruit in the army now, but he is also the most sought after goalkeeper in the country.

That may seem a bold claim considering the 19-year-old has had little football training in the last three weeks and has played just 1 S-League match so far this season.

But the national team's management are going to lengths to nurture Hassan Sunny. The Lions assistant coach Fandi Ahmad had been tasked to personally pick him up & take him to & from national team training.

Raddy Avramovic has made it clear that the national serviceman has a major role to play in his long-term plans.

Hassan Sunny was honoured that Fandi Ahmad would take the effort to visit him & pick him up to training. It has resulted in his army mates were all asking if he was Fandi Ahmad's brother.

Despite having no training since his enlistment for National Service last month, the Young Lions' custodian has not lost his touch. His return to competitive football last week saw him keep a clean sheet in the Young Lions 3-0 win over Tanjong Pagar United.

Hassan Sunny felt his stint in the army has made him physically & mentally stronger as well as making himself more disciplined.

When Singapore take on Japan in the crucial World Cup Group 3 qualifier on Wednesday, it will be his biggest game in his career so far & he is eager to give it his best shot.
