They will never get over the death of their son, but Jiang Tao's parents will always remember the generosity of Singaporean.

Jiang Tao, the 18-year-old Sinchi Prime League player had arrived in Singapore 2years ago, was struck by lightning killing him instantly during a training session at Jurong Stadium on March 10.

His father Jiang Yanbao while comforting his wife Wang Cui Ying said his son loved football very much so they decided to let him come here to Singapore when he was just 16 years old as they wanted him to have the chance to polish his footballing skills here.

The couple last saw Jiang Tao when he returned home to Jilin, China for Chinese New Year.

Jiang Tao was their only son & his sudden death have had a profound impact on the family.

However, the kindness and sympathy of Singaporeans has helped to mend our broken hearts.

They will return to Singapore every year on the anniversary of his death as they want to see our son, who will be here in Singapore forever.

The local football fraternity had raised $154,135 for Jiang Tao's parents, which included the $128,000 insurance claim that was presented by NTUC Income Insurance Cooperatives.

Jiang Tao's funeral will be held from on Saturday at Singapore Casket with the casket company offering the parlour free of charge.

The body will be cremated at Mount Vernon Crematorium after the funeral, but the parents will remain in Singapore for about another month.

According to Chinese customs, the soul of the dead can only leave this world peacefully for reincarnation 49 days after death.

Jiang Tao's parents want to bring their son's ashes back to China after observing rites on the 49th day.
