Critics who wrote (including this web) Mirko Grabovac off as a "has been", citing his poor 20-goal return last season as proof that the striker had lost his touch, will have to swallow their words.

Mirko Grabovac is having the last laugh as the 32-year-old Stags striker is currently perched on top of the NTUC Income-Yeo's S-League 2004 scorers list with 6 goals in 3 matches.

He stated he never stopped scoring & it was only because last season when he was injured for some time that he only scored 20 goals for SAFFC. He had always believed he could score in every game he played.

At Tampines Rovers, he is playing great football again as a result of support he got from the coach, the players & the fans. Also with the team playing attacking football, which suits his style of play, he is getting the chances to score again.

However he is resigned to the fact that he may not be recalled to the national squad again no matter what kind of form he may be in. He was however proud to have don national colours for Singapore National team as it is the pinnacle of a footballer's career. He would like to don national colours if Singapore ever need him again.

Therefore despite his inability to find the net for Singapore in 11 international appearances, he will be remember as among the best striker the S-league has ever seemed.
