A podcast on Indra chances at RSL

RSL general manager Garth Lagerwey hosted a chant with fans and here what was said of Indra Sahdan.

Indra found his groove at the end of the Florida camp and has lost his mysterious jet-lag.

His chances to make the team are good, if he perform better than his good form from last week and he is different from the other strikers because he is a experience player.

RSL needs a reliable goal scorer, and Indra fit that bill well

When mentioning about Kenny deuchar, he talks about the other strikers, he mentions about Indra as well but there was an errors as he spoke about Indra scoring tons of goals in Indonesia Liga showing he need to buck up on Indra history in the S-LEAGUE.

Today report Indra trial extended by another 2 weeks

http://www.todayonline.com/pdf_open.asp?id=2602SPR037

TODAY has reported MLS side Real Salt Lake have invited the Singapore national captain Indra Sahdan to extend his stay for another two week for their pre-season tour of Argentina beginning this week on Friday, with a view to offering him a contract.

Indra, 29 has just completed a two-week trial at the club’s pre-season training camp in Florida already.

Indra agent Dave Roberts believed feels Indra has a very good chance of becoming a full member of the squad.

“After speaking to the club’s general manager Garth Lagerwey, I’d say his chances of being offered a contract are excellent,” said Roberts.

“If they weren’t interested in him, they would not have asked him to join them for a further two weeks in Argentina.”

Roberts, who had met club officials in Miami, added: “All he has to do now is to perform as well as he did in Miami and he might be lining up against David Beckham and the LA Galaxy on May 3.”

Indra find the net against Florida Atlantic University

http://www.rslfm.com/

Indra Sahdan scored in the second half against Florida Atlantic University despite a shorten period to 15 minutes, as the players were playing their second match in two days.

Scoring Summary:
RSL – Kyle Brown 1 (Tony Beltran 2) 1
RSL – Indra Sahdan Daud 2 (Robbie Findley 1) 50
FAU – (goal) 52

Real Salt Lake Line-up: GK-Kyle Reynish; DF-Tony Beltran (Brennan Tennelle 22), DF-Dustin Kirby, DF-David Horst, DF-Craig Ziadie; MF-Salim Bullen, MF-Matias Cordoba, MF-Alex Nimo (Kenny Cutler 45), MF-Kevin Reiman; FW-Tino Nunez (Indra Sahdan Daud 45), FW-Kyle Brown (Robbie Findley 45)

Depiction of the goal

It was Indra who would take advantage of the extra time in the 50th minute. After a long build-up, FW Robbie Findley slipped Indra behind the Owls backline, and the Singaporean international did the rest, taking a settling touch before rifling a shot from 16 yards inside the far left post to push the RSL lead to 2-0. Florida Atlantic would get one back just two minutes later when an Owls attacker ran onto a well-played back-heeled pass at the top of the area and sent a hard, low blast to the left of a diving Kyle Reynish, cutting the RSL advantage to 2-1.

Desert Morning News thanked Singapore and Indra could extend trial

http://www.deseretnews.com/blogs/1,5322,26,00.html?bD=20080223&sc=dmn

No surprise as the Desert Morning News thanked the Singapore fans, who are following Indra Sahdan trial at RSL, for boasting their readership of their blog.

But the most important news they gave out was RSL was still looking at Indra, although undecided yet, meaning Indra would need to extend his trial period and depart for Argentine where the RSL are setting up their next camp.

Indra set to sign for RSL

I did say from all the news sources even an unreliable source like Tribal Football but with it reputation as a new source a joke, let not take it too seriously although one thing is for sure and that is it took interest in Indra Sahdan showing how much attention this MLS trial has attracted.

Sport Writer James Edward staked his reputation or not

http://www.deseretnews.com/blogs/1,5322,26,00.html

In the Desert Morning News blog, sport writer James Edward believed Indra may not make to RSL team as he answered request (Most likely from Singapore fans) on the Singapore Captain.

Although he did leave himself with space to retreat back (No doubt when proven wrong) stating he was not coach material.

There's been some inquiries made about Singapore striker Indra Sahdan Daud, and his chances of making the team. For obvious reasons, that's information the coaches aren't willing to divulge quite yet, but I'd be surprised if he made the team.

Part of the problem is his fitness. I know jet lag was a contributing factor in the first few days, but he still seems to be a bit behind the rest of RSL's players. That's something he could work his way into, but I personally just haven't seen enough to believe the coaches will sign him to one of its remaining international roster spots.

His finishing has been good, but not great, and his strength is good, but not great. With three more scrimmages on tap for RSL during the rest of the week (Tuesday, Friday, Saturday) he's got a few more chances to win a spot.

At only 5-foot-7 and 142 pounds, not to mention he'll be 29 on opening day, the odds are stacked against him. This is just one sports writer's opinion whose soccer glory days were achieved with FIFA 2000.

Jetlag or not, Indra is a goalscorer

http://www.deseretnews.com/blogs/1,5322,26,00.html?bD=20080216&sc=dmn

The headline tell the story, Indra is an out and out striker and he always score goals even if suffering from jetlag from a 22 hour flights – that may take at least 72 to hours to recover.

In a friendly game arranged at RSL training camp, Indra notch a goal 8 minutes into game after coming on at the start of the second half.

Scoring Summary
RSL – (own goal) '16

RSL – Indra Sahdan Daud (unassisted) '53
FIU – (not available) '81

1st half RSL line-up: Chris Seitz, Craig Ziadie, Robin Fraser (Dustin Kirby, 33) Matias Mantilla, Tony Beltran, Alex Nimo, Nathan Sturgis, Andy Williams, Kevin Reiman, Yura Movsisyan (Tino Nunez, 33), Kyle Brown.

2nd half RSL line-up: Kyle Reynish, Chris Wingert, Dustin Kirby, Carey Talley, Ian Joy, Salim Bullen, Kenny Cutler, Javier Morales, Matias Cordoba, Tino Nunez (Fabian Espindola, 65), Indra Sahdan Daud.

Depiction of the goal

Eight minutes into the second half, Singapore trialist Indra Sahdan Daud increased the lead to 3-0 by knocking in a rebounded shot from Nunez.

Indra had poor start at RSL training camp

http://www.deseretnews.com/blogs/1,5322,26,00.html?bD=20080215&sc=dmn

Indra Sahdran had a poor start to his trial suffering the jet-lag of 22 hours flight from Singapore to the USA West coast.

It seems RSL coaching staff understood it and knew he was tired thus his poor performance.

A Podcast on why Indra was invited to MLS for trial

http://www.aylsoccer.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=625&Itemid=10109

RSL General Manager Garth Lagerwey discussing player moves (Will have Indra at about 19 minutes mark), the stadium, watch parties and the preseason so far.

He mentioned why the team was interested in Indra; Indra had a good record at international level and he was especially impressed that as Singapore captain Indra was willing to attend trial at RSL  as he had incidents when other nation captains felt insulted that they had to attend trials.

He believed Indra attitude was the kind he wished to see in his players and Indra as a veteran can pass it on the youngsters.

RSL may also just signed just one forward to add to the team and as the club current forwards are in their early 20s, a old head like Indra is needed to lead the young forwards if he impresses.
