Box Set: The case is still pending, but it looks like Courtney Love is going to win this one. It doesn't look like the Box set will be released anytime soon. Grohl and Novoselic accuse Love of doing this to attract more attention to herself. Love states profoundly that she is not doing this for herself, but for Cobain, and what he means to Nirvana. In addition, Wendy O'Conner, Cobain's mother, is on Love's side in this battle. She also claims that Love is doing this for what's best for Cobain. Love vs. Grohl, Novoselic, & Box Set: Courtney Love is now sueing David Grohl and Krist Novoselic for the release of a rare Nirvana song titled "You Know You're Right". She says that if this song is on the Box Set, the set could sell around 15 million copies than if the song was not on the set. This amount outruns the sales of Nevermind (12 million). This lawsuit delays the release of the Box Set which was due this fall. Grohl and Novoselic claim that she is sueing to do away with the Box Set as a whole. The judge is siding with Courtney on this matter, thus far. Courtney is also trying to dissolved a partnership with Dave and Krist called Nirvana L.L.C. formed in 1997. This partnership says that all three must vote unanimously on major decisions like releasing materials. The Box Set will not be released untill all these matters are finished. 120 Unreleased Tapes: 120 Unreleased tapes featuring Kurt is locked up in a vault. Some songs feature Kurt only, others with Grohl & Novoselic, and others with the previous members of Nirvana. Some songs are new, while others are different versions of already released songs. Love says that they will not be released until Geffen Records gives Nirvana a better deal. In unrelated news, Courtney is also sueing Universal Music Group saying that major labels force bands to sign unfair contracts. More information is again at Sonicnet.com

The Box Set: It was supposed to be released earlier this year. However, some conflicting interests have emerged. Courtney Love claims that, after speaking to an attorney, the Nirvana LLP is an "illegal" partnership. Illegal in the sense that the royalties are not given out fairly since Kurt wrote 98% of the songs. She feels he should get more than Chris or David. She also states that Chad Channing really has more of a percentage than Chris or David and he should get money too. She also said that Muddy Banks was a failure and she feels that the new Box Set will be too (if it is ever released). I do not have all the gory details..I am just putting this in through word of mouth and Yahoo! Club Nirvana member posts. Courtney Love: She is in works with Veruca Salt's Louise Post and Rockit Girl's Gina Crosley on a side project band called Bastard. Love will be lead vocalist, Post will lead guitarist, and Crosley will be bassist. Former Hole drummer Patty Shemel will be the drummer. Music: According to Spin Magazine, the most popular download ever off of Napster is Nirvana's Verse Chorus Verse. Even after 10 years....they still rock! and will remain a living legend.
