Observing the Meteors: the professionals

Some of the image intensifier meteor cameras the Canadian-U.S. expedition used; every night they were moved to a balcony of the "Hotel Edelweiss".

Here the data would end up: a) recorded in real-time on the 6 VCRs seen in front, b) on a monitor (on the right side of the table) for real-time viewing of one of the images, and c) in a computer that would try to identify meteor trails and count them, also in real-time.

The real thing: Col. Worden counts meteors on the screen (the team members took turns here as well as for the visual counting ouside), on the morning of Nov. 18. No storm in sight...
