The Solar Net was first developed by the Drow as a method of catching and torturing other drow. Known by the drow as "Piwafwi Jiv`undus" or "Cloak of Pain", the net has been modified for use against vampires, warewolves, demons and other creatures of the night.

Construction

The links in the chains that make up the solar net are dwarven steel forged by slaves in the service of the house of Waerr`es. The enchanted silver thread that provides additional strength and guards against magical escape from the chains were woven by elvish slaves who were also in the service of the house of Waerr`es. The sun crystals were grown in the Gardens of Icy Torment by the handmaidens of Her Royal Highness Frigantia, Ice Queen of the Abyss. The epoxy and gravity generators were developed by Skytower in the service of Wicked Wanda.

How it works

The Net once it had surrounded the captive increases its weight by 100 pounds as the gravity generators built into the edges hit the ground. At the same time the sun crystals go into operation. The darker crystals collect any energy directed toward the net and transfer it to the planet Mars, the light crystals transfer sunlight toward the inside of the net. For an explanation of the sun crystals click here. At the same time the sun crystals are transferring sunlight so that it can shine on the captive, they are also providing power for the gravity generators and heating the epoxy inside the links to a molten level. If any of the links are broken the epoxy will escape, adhere to any substance and cool instantly. This should prevent any cutting of the net since the epoxy will adhere to the sides of the blade no matter how sharp the edges are. The mystical wards grafted into the silver thread will negate most low level magical spells including teleportation, astral projection and fail-trap spells. They will also protect against the melting of the chain by mystical flame.

The Solar Nets are available in small (8 feet by 8 feet square with links of 2 inches), medium (12 feet by 12 feet square with links of 4 inches), large (20 feet by 20 feet square) and Dragon Size (100 feet by 100 feet square with links of 1 foot). Pricing varies, see Dungeon Pricing chart for options.
