First KISS At C.C???
My source tells me that right beneath the CC Tiger flagpole is a very auspicious place for a girl to receive a kiss from her companion...it is supposed to bode well for the future. The magnificent sculpture, originally donated by Augusta Swart-Earle in 1930 , was recently lovingly restored and can be visited near the Worner Center.

..and I thought I knew where Longfellow School was........
Due to the very rapid growth on the Westside at the turn of the century (no, the OTHER turn of the century)...several schools had to be constructed. This beautiful two story sits on the west side near 25th and Bijou....I'll soon add a pic of its "namesake" built in the 50's on Maizeland.

Tigger uses the "step on it and find it" approach to find Mr. Finch.
......You knew it was inevitable, didn't you....let a guy loose doing semi-serious historical research and he'll eventually have to slip in family photos. Since my son has grown and quit doing cute things for the camera I have turned to my faithful wonder dog, TIGGER. When I tried to interest him in the little waif on the doorstep he was, at best, OBLIVIOUS. He paid the slightest bit of interest in the little fellow when he stepped on him. This explains why God prefers that birds not smell like dog treats.
