Travelling in Zambia in June, 2001: Lower Zambezi

Our final campsite, at the Chongwe River Camp.

Observing the animals on the other bank of the Chongwe river - many of the pictures in the animals and elephants gallery were taken right here.

Cooking for the crowds, Zambian style: Kapenta fish on Nshima.

Setting out on a night game drive (of 5 1/4 hours!) with Chris - the lions were found during that night.

The expedition comes to a relaxing end, at the Vineyard Lodge in Lusaka (the six-pack was free, by the way, when we visited the Mosi brewery).

And so the journey ends, at Lusaka's airport. Or almost: Already on the gangway, all the eclipse chasers had to unpack their cameras and snap a parting shot of the Sun ...
