Service Meeting
September 21, 2006

At Room 141:
Steven handed out membership forms and directions to the Utah Food Bank.
Recruited several more non-members to come to the service opportunity.
Split into three groups and set off.
At the Food Bank:
Signed in at the reception desk; watched an introductory video to the Utah Food Bank and its services.
Were directed by an advisor; our task: stuffing envelopes with four books of various sizes (The King's Highway, Fablehaven, Christmas Jars, Leven Thumbs and the Whispered Words) and a poster to send to schools all over Utah on behalf of Deseret Books and the Commission for Literacy. Envelopes were either addressed to schools or non-addressed. Posters went into addressed envelopes only, and were to be protected in the cardboard boxes.
Split into four groups: placing stickers [in the inside covers of the books detailing Deseret Book's generosity], stuffing envelopes, taping envelope flaps shut and making boxes, placing envelopes into readymade boxes.
Results: finished thirty (30) boxes of five (5) envelopes each--twenty two (22) addressed, eight (8) non-addressed.
After the Activity
Signed out at reception desk. Steven collected a newsletter and a "Fall Leaf Haul 2006" notice.
Split back into original three groups, drove back to Skyline/Mocha Salsa.
CALENDER
Fall Conference Rally September 23, 2006 @ Lagoon from noon to 2 PM.
Board Meeting September 25, 2006 @ RM 141 at lunch.
Duties:
President: Talk to Treasurer about dues and to Service about future activities; pass out tickets to those going to the Conference.
Secretary: Get officer contact list; prepare September Monthly Report Form.
