Meet my son Matthew. Matt is my second child and my only boy. He is 11 years old and in the 7th grade. Matt is a very inquisitive child and a problem solver. At times he can also be a problem creator :) Matt's favorite activities include playing computer games, flying kites, playing baseball and harassing his sisters. :) But Matt can also be a very gentle and loving child, who only has to look at you with those gorgeous blue eyes and mile long eyelashes to melt your heart. He can try my patience to the limits, but staying angry at him for any length of time is almost impossible. Matt was diagnosed with ADHD in 4th grade and now is on medication for that and he is reaching new heights that I always knew he could achieve but he had so much trouble getting to due to his inability to focus and complete tasks.

Matt was born at 9:32pm on Nov. 12, 1992 in Mountain View California. Matt had warm weather unlike his older sister but he also had a much rougher entrance into the world. He had
quite a lot of distress and a triple cord wrap, but in the end he came out of it a healthy, alert baby boy. Matt has always been my "high needs" child right from the start but then I guess when you have a rough start you need a little bit more attention :)

Matt spent all of his life in CA until we moved to NC in the spring of 1998 so I guess you could say he is a true CA boy :) Matt is not all high demand though, he also has a loving, gentle, and caring nature. He can melt a heart with a bat of his eyes
or a smile and he knows just what to say and when to say it to charm the dickens out of anyone. And of course as is usually the case, he got the bluest eyes, the longest lashes and the thickest hair of the three kids!

Matt loves doing things that require using his mind and creativity. He retains information alarmingly well and almost always need to be shown how to do something only once! He loves to build things and create things. His mind seems to always be in constant motion and he comes up with ideas for solving a problem that I would never think of! I have no doubt my son will someday be a great architect or engineer, the problem solving and design skills are already in place even now.
Matt gives me some of my greatest challenges but he also gives me some of my bestest warm fuzzies! Having a son is a unique and wonderful experience!
