CHARLTON ATHLETIC RESERVES 1-0 COVENTRY CITY RESERVES
BY KEV MONKS AND COLIN HEYS

City Reserves went down to Charlton at the Valley with a battling performance. Trevor Peake's side at times played some good football and deserved a share of the points in front of a crowd of 300-400 including two City fans.

They fell behind to a 38th minute header from Mark Debolla and could have been level on the stroke of half-time. Runar Norman sent over a good cross which was bundled into the net by Ysrael Zuniga on the goal-line but the referee cancelled out the goal for offside.

City dominated the second half with fine performances from Calum Davenport who was strong at the back and Gary McSheffrey who ran tirelessly all night. Runar Normann also was in fine form and battled well.

Unfortunately, City could not back up this effort with a goal and left London with another defeat.
