| Richardson Out- Protest this Saturday By Joe Rukin Date: 6/9/2001 Concerned City fans will leave Club Chairman Bryan Richardson with no doubt of what they think of him this Saturday with a protest calling for him to go. The rumours are true - there is a 'Richardson Out' protest planned for this Saturday. Over 10,000 placards are being printed with the simple message, 'OUT!'. Since the Kirkland transfer and the news of the iminent sale of what is left of the nucleus of the side, the good PR which the board had been living on since the aquisittion of Hughes has disappeared. Under Bryan Richardson, Coventry City has been run into the ground. The club debt has risen to between 30m and 50m Highfield Road has been sold. Plans for a new stadium for CCFC - which was due to open at the start of this season - have collapsed in shambles. All the club's best players have bee sold - or are about to sold. Net inclome from sales this summer alone is 17million. Bryan Richardson says this has all happened is because we were relegated but whose responsibility was that? If Bryan Richardson had not sold Robbie Keane would we have struggled to score last season? And why is it that out of the three relegaterd clubs, CCFC is the only club selling all its players? The time has come to do something. That's why a peaceful protest is planned for this Saturday. If you want to take part in this peaceful protest, here's what you can do. Tell your friends about it. Ring the CWR phone in of Friday night Take part at the game. Pick up a placard outside the ground on Saturday and show it at the board before the game. This peaceful protest is not aimed at the players but the chairman. We can't ignore what happened to Wolves in the 1980s when their debts took them all the way down. While the current board stay at Coventry City, is there a future for Coventry City? To contact for the protest organisers, email [email protected] |
