| Very little is revealed of Rogue's life before the manifestation of her mutant powers, not even her real name. All that is known is that she grew up in Caldecott Country, near the banks of the Mississippi River. In the throes of aldolecent passions, Rogue kissed a boy named Cody Robbins, causing him to loose consciousness. Unable to shut out his memories, She fled. Rogue was discovered soon afterwads by the sinister shapeshifter Mystique, who reconized the girl's abilites, and adopted her as her daughter. Rogue lived with Mysique, and her companion- the blind mutant seer called Destiny- Engaging in terrorist activities as a member of the brotherhood of evil mutants. When the other members of the brotherhood were incarcenated, Rogue ambushed the original Ms. Marvel to steal her powers and free her teammates from prison. But the plan went totally awry: Rogue absorbed all the heroine's abilities permanently and assililated Carol Danvers' Psyche. Unable to purge the memories of Ms. Marvel, Rogue sought after the Telepathic, Telekinetic, Charles Xavier- Founder of the X-Men- An outlaw team of mutant heroes. Determined that the only way to help Rogue was to make her a X-Men. but the rest of the team refuse to accede with his wishes.
