I looked upon a damaged rosebud, its petals tightly woven in despare. I decided to nurture it, for it reminded me of your life over recent years.
Of the struggle and heartache you have overcome, as each day slowly past bye, Of your mind's torment, in not understanding "why"?
I wanted to tell you my daughter, my friend, that in my thoughts, My heart has ached for you, My eyes have wept for you, My arms have held you through it all.
With great effort on your part, And joy within my heart, I have watched you, travel a long, long way, To become the person you are today.
Now I look upon the rosebud, No more are it's petals tightly woven, But are open in soft layers, The colour of gold, And like you my darling, A thing of beauty to behold,
I wanted to tell you, as your mom, How proud you have made me, With all you've had to overcome.
So go my precious Nae Nae, And like the rose, Keep blosseming, A little more each day.
I Love You |
