To My Grandchildren
My darlings, you are my life,
And my heart fills with joy and the light of all the stars in space,
When I look upon your faces.
Growing up so quickly now, you are no longer babe's in arms,
But little men and women endowed with all your charms.
You are all so different and individual,
I shall love you all as long as time allows.
You are my future inspiration and the reason for my being,
As you grow, I shall watch with interest and caring.
I will be there for you all if you should need a friend,
That is part of my duty toward you,
I have that privilege, because I am your nan.
